The College of Medicine's MD program trains future physicians in the science and art of medicine. At Drexel, our medical students learn to combine cutting-edge technology with the highest level of compassion in the practice of medicine.
The MD program works closely with Drexel University's other colleges and schools as well as with the Philadelphia community. Our students have the opportunity to explore their scientific and clinical interests throughout their four years. Our long-standing partnerships with several affiliate training sites expose students to diverse patient populations and a variety of health conditions.
The program's innovative curriculum, experienced faculty and vibrant student life provide Drexel medical students with an outstanding educational experience.
Statement from the Office of Admissions Regarding Academic Work Affected by the COVID-19 Outbreak
The Office of Admissions would like to address the concerns of MD program applicants regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused unprecedented disruption to academic work. The College of Medicine is keenly aware of the many challenges that applicants have faced.
Please be advised of the following:
- The Admissions Committee will accept pass/fail, online and courses not taken at an applicant’s “home school” without penalty to the applicant.
- Applicants will not be penalized for experiences they had planned to complete or participate in that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On May 16, 2025, Drexel University College of Medicine celebrated its largest graduating class in history at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. The ceremony recognized the achievements of future physicians, scientists, and health professionals, including the first group of MD program students from the 4-year regional medical campus at Tower Health in West Reading, Pa., as well as MS, PhD, and dual degree recipients from the College’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies. On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, MD program students, faculty and professional staff from Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health in West Reading, Pa., celebrated the class of 2027’s Transition to the Clinic event. This annual campus tradition highlights MD student accomplishments and marks their entry into the clinical phase of their education at Tower Health – Reading Hospital. Read more.
"Cultural Competency: State Medical Board Mandatory CME"
Gabi Ramos, MD ’27, Valentina S. de Queiroz, MD ’27, and Mark Woodland, MS, MD, associate dean of advocacy and policy, and professor of obstetrics and gynecology, presented a poster, "Cultural Competency: State Medical Board Mandatory CME," at the annual meeting of the Federation of State Medical Boards.
Miller-Keystone Blood Center Blood Drive Success
On Tuesday, April 15, Drexel medical students from the Physick House society and the Student Government Association (SGA) hosted a successful blood drive in collaboration with the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. Over 20 College of Medicine students participated! Thank you to all the organizers and donors for their support and for giving back to patients in our community!
The College of Medicine inducted the newest members into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Gold Humanism Honor Society during a ceremony and banquet on March 25, 2025, at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue. Read more.

“My path to medicine has been deeply influenced by both my family and personal experiences. My father has owned a pest control business for decades, where I worked part-time from a young age. During my junior year of high school, my father was involved in an accident in which he fractured his sacrum and three vertebrae in his spine. In the months that followed, I watched as rehabilitation restored his independence and shaped his recovery. This experience led me to start pursuing a career in the rehabilitation field to positively impact the lives of patients and their families as others did for my father.” Read more.
